The Property team is a tight knit unit of property specialists who support the wider Waka Kotahi in providing fit for purpose offices nationally.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The purpose of this role is liaising with building managers / contractors and equipment suppliers to ensure they are maintained and operated to meet agreed internal and requirements as directed by the corporate property team.
Work with suppliers and the wider Waka Kotahi team to ensure suppliers of building and facilities services to our national portfolio are on current and best practice commercial terms and manage the ongoing dealings with those suppliers.
The Corporate Property team at Waka Kotahi are looking for an energetic team player to support the overall property team in best practice property and facility management. We are looking for an astute, punctual and dedicated person looking to progress their career in property and facilities management in a large Government organization.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in property, facilities, and/or property project management within a large organisation
- In-depth understanding and expertise in corporate property services and building assets
- Experience and understanding of the New Zealand Government and political environment
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to problem solving, good judgement, and a proactive ‘can do' attitude
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with a collaborative style of engagement
Travel may be required as needed.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
