The position is within the Transport Property team who provide specialist property functions which are integral to the value chain that enables Waka Kotahi to deliver sustainable transport solutions.

As Senior Project Manager in the Auckland region, you will have direct impact on the delivery of property solutions and the unique opportunity to support the implementation of the major infrastructure projects that keep New Zealand moving. You will oversee the acquisition programme for several major transport system projects and will drive best practice in project management and property acquisition to continuously improve the way we work and how we support the wider Waka Kotahi outcomes.
Working as part of a regionally dispersed team you will support the delivery of the Waka Kotahi Property Acquisition Programme which ranges from $25m to $150m each year to support our transport system property programmes. You will develop project plans and programmes for your projects in conjunction with our internal acquisition team and external agents, together with appropriate risk mitigation.
A core aspect of this role is being part of a national property team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to building a high performing team, setting team objectives and expectations, monitoring and strengthening team cohesion and performance. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management experience will be critical for you to be successful in this role.

To optimise Waka Kotahi the Transport Agency's property project outcomes you will need to bring a strong vision for the future, innovative ideas and an understanding of operational excellence in the project management and property acquisition. You will also need strong collaboration and influencing skills to support the completion of complex transactions with multiple parties.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in the purchase of property.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of project plans and programmes
- Substantial experience in the delivery of large property programmes or projects.
- Excellent skills in communication, leading, influencing, collaborating and building credibility across a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent Microsoft project skills.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Bachelor or Business Studies (VPM), Bachelor of Property or Project management qualification)
- Current and valid New Zealand driver's licence.
