Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Here is your opportunity to join the newly forming Capability and Improvement team responsible for lifting capability through providing data and information in a structured way that makes decision making simple.  Starting with financials, this role will analyse and interpret financial information and provide robust reporting to provide clear line of sight to how we're tracking against Waka Kotahi projects, business goals and objectives in line with government expectations.

You will collaborate across Waka Kotahi and will work closely with delivery teams in Transport Services analysing expenditure against budgets, identifying opportunities and will provide reporting for early signalling of changes. You will also work closely with our finance and technology teams to align information and reporting to ensure we have one source of financial information that is fit for purpose. 

As a Senior Finance Delivery Analyst you will be familiar with how to structure data in SAP and set the direction for the reporting needed. You will understand and articulate performance information providing in-depth performance information insights and will be instrumental in enabling an accurate vision of how Waka Kotahi projects and spending is tracking against government expectation which will have direct impact on securing future funding.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in Finance Management
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups to deliver outcomes
• Strong drive for results
• Previous experience working in SAP and as an end user
• Experience in training and providing support/guidance to users
• A SAP certification or evidence of SAP specific study being undertaken would be advantageous
• Relevant tertiary qualification in information systems or related disciplines or accounting qualification is preferred
