Strategic Communications and Engagement Manager - Auckland Light Rail
The NZ Transport Agency is leading delivery of the Auckland Light Rail programme in partnership with Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and HLC. The development of Light Rail and other transport infrastructure will be integrated with urban development, in order to deliver more housing, employment and recreational opportunities close to the proposed light rail lines.
Light rail in Auckland will run from the City Centre to Māngere, connecting communities along the corridor including employment areas such as the city centre, Onehunga and Auckland Airport. It also involves a light rail corridor from the City Centre to the Northwest — another area of rapid growth for the city. The new light rail network will positively influence the way the city grows, providing sustainable connections to the city for new communities and enabling the further development of Auckland particularly in the west and northwest.
Your role will be to lead and manage the internal and external communications and engagement activities associated with the Auckland Light Rail work programme and its initiatives. You will manage the internal and external communications and engagement and develop and lead the engagement and communications strategy, goals, plan and approach.
You will lead a small team, to prepare effective communication and ensure sound monitoring and reporting around communication and engagement activities. This is a great opportunity to work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team on a project that is going to have high visibility in Auckland and across the country.

- Experience at a senior level managing communication functions in a large complex organisation
- Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders, senior managers and their teams
