As our Maintenance Contract Manager, you will work with the highways maintenance and operations service delivery contract and provide levels of service that meet both the technical requirements and the customer need. You will become a member of the Tairawhiti Roads team which is a joint venture agreement with Gisborne District Council and have influence over state highways as well as local roads in the Gisborne area.
Working alongside the Maintenance Contract Manager, Network Managers and the Journey Manager and other internal teams, you will play a vital part in procurement and contract management to assist in achieving the best outcomes for all parties, through collaboration and open communication. This is where your strong relationship management and negotiation skills will come to the fore. This is a varied role and other responsibilities include collaboration with contractors, promotion of the Network Outcomes Contract and monitoring the safety of the highway networks.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience in contract management in particular working with NZS3910
- Experience of relationship management, including contracting and expert dispute resolution capability
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to deliver a strong customer focus culture
- Civil design capability and asset management experience
- An Engineering degree, or equivalent
A Chartered Professional Engineer qualification (CMEngNZ or equivalent) is desirable.
