Take your project management experience to a bigger arena where you will be working on projects of national significance.  As a seasoned project manager, you are already well schooled in managing the various stages of planning, procurement and implementation and ensuring the forward work plan for all assigned projects delivers great journeys to keep New Zealand moving.

As a representative of the New Zealand Transport Agency, you will play a big role in decision making and getting the best outcome for our Iwi partners & communities, while ensuring projects are delivered on time and budget.  

This role will require some degree of travel, as you will be working on projects, sometimes out of the immediate region.

To be successful here and in this role you will offer:

  • At least 5 years' experience in project management, including programme, financial & risk management
  • The ability to develop projects applying strong understanding of legislation and the business case approach
  • Experience in managing contracts within the civil engineering industry and a sound understanding of NZS3910
  • A collaborative and team focussed approach to project development
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Experience in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders


An engineering qualification or project management experience within the transport/engineering sector is desirable, as is a Chartered Professional Engineer qualification (CPEng or equivalent) and a professional membership of IPENZ (MIPENZ).
